LIC simplifies policy settlement process for families of Air India plane crash victims
The Life Insurance Corporation of India on Friday announced various concessions to ease the financial hardship of the families of those who died in the Ahmedabad Air India Flight Al 171 plane crash on June 12, 2025. In a press release,
LIC said that passengers who lost their lives in the accident.
To provide financial relief to policyholders who have expressed their condolences to the school members and families of those killed in the accident, LIC has said it will expedite the process of death claims and relax some of the conditions normally required for settlement.
As per announcement, in lieu of death certificate, LIC will carry any government record confirming the death of the policyholder or proof of compensation paid by the Central or State Government or Air India authorities.
The insurance company has assured that all efforts will be made to quickly contact the families of the policyholders and pay their dues as soon as possible. In case of need of assistance and claimants can contact their nearest LIC branch or customer area.
Additionally, a helpline, 022 68276827, has been set up to provide support and information.
